Klaus’ focus has always been on learning and sharing as much as possible about all aspects of the coffee’s way from seed to cup, visiting farms and learning about roasting, blending and cupping. In 2006, after extensive training, he went on to win first the Danish Barista Championship and next the World Barista Championship in Bern, Switzerland. His performance emphasized the importance of the quality of coffee from the farmer over to the roast master to the barista. The Coffee Symphony, as he calls it, was also the name of his WBC winning Signature Drink, incorporating three different coffee elements in different textures and temperatures.
Since winning the WBC Klaus has offered his expertise as a specialty coffee ambassador providing barista training and coffee consulting all over the world. His newest endeavour is a specialty coffee roastery and consultancy company in Copenhagen, Denmark together with three of his esteemed colleagues; Roast Master Peter Dupont, Casper Engel and Linus Törsäter.
